Villa del Abate, situated near Lucca, is plunged in the country, on the hillside, at 15min approx from Lucca's center; the wonderful Versilia sea, the Abetone's peaks and the mysterious Garfagnana are all reachable in 30 min. It's charmingly situated with a view covering from Lucca towers to San Miniato. The site was inhabited since the Lombard period, V-VI century, as testified by some tower ruins found, later on another tower was built, X-XI century, surrounded then by others structures and in the end by our wonderfull villa, the actual look, that dates back to XV-XVI century, is due to a restoration for the wedding of two members of two of the richest and most influential noble families of Lucca, the Mansi and the Menocchi. Last restoration preserved all the original features of the structure, the construction materials therefore the stones, the "Cotto", the wood, the hand-forged iron, the fire places, the oriand the '500 partition with the spacious halls and bedrooms, the typical Loggia (balcony) with arches, columns, capitals and frescoes; a thorough example of severity and elegance as testimony of its former prestige and grandeur, a true and beautiful specimen of "Villa Lucchese", as described and codified by the famous architect Mr. Samminiati (1500).

Technical Description:
The Villa is about 1300mq, on three floors;

At the ground floor there's a 70mq hall with bricks vault while the remaing ceilings are wooden-beamed, there are 3 bedrooms, (2 with twin beds and 1 with double bed) , two bathrooms, (1 with shower and 1 with bath tub) , A fully furnished kitchen, equipped with fridge, dishwasher, oven and various electrical appliances. A central halls with an impressive fireplace, a wood-burning oven and the laundry(washing machine, iron facilities. drymachine).

At the 1st floor you will found an ample guest living, about 150mq, with a huge fire place made in stone; a dining room, a living room, a study, another livingroom is inside the tower with the original fire place and a wooden-beam and "cotto" ceiling; one guest bathroom and a big "Loggia" partly frescoed viewing the Oliveto (olive grove) and the woods.
At 2dnd floor: an ample hall with high ceiling overhanged by an old truss and big wooden beams and "cotto"ceiling, a huge fire place, 6 bedrooms , one of this with fire place (the bedrooms can be made up weith a double bed or with two twin beds) -2 bathrooms with tub and 4 bathrooms with showers.The Villa is mainly decorated with antique furniture of high quality and in various styles. In the main halls there is a TV with satellite system; the building is provided with a floor heating system except for the tower that has a traditional one. The Villa is surrounded by a garden and the Oliveto, furthermore there is a tank (9x3mt)of the Renaissance period, it used to be a fish tank, and now after the restoration will be the perfect refreshing spot during the hot summer days, equipped with beach umbrella and lounge chairs.

The prices are valid for an occupation until 12 persons. If the villa is rent to more than 12 persons, the price is 7990 in high season, 6670 Euro in middle season and 5600 Euro in the low season.

Final cleaning: 390 Euro

The prices include: 4 hour-cleaning service 2 times a week
gardener, pool cleaning, towels, bedlinen, consumption of water, electricity

Extra: Heating, Telephone, Internet, Fax service depending on consumption and calculated separately from the owner.

A refundable deposit of €1500 by cash is required upon the arrival. Stayings are generally from Saturday to Saturday but the owners are flexible and can be eventually agreed arrivals also in other day of the week.
