Villa Pessoa is located in an opening wooded grove, surrounded by old oak trees which blend sun and shade on the lawn in front of it. Beyond are open fields and views across the valley. The villa is part of large estate spread in different places in the val d' Orcia region.

The Villa can be rented for for up to 10 persons in the main villa and for up to 14 persons - together with an annex building next to the Villa.

Technical Description:

The ground floor - originally it was used to be the cows’ barn - has been converted into a large "summer room" (no heating in winter) leading out to the garden. Seven windows flood the room with light, the mangers have been turned into benches with cushions. An open fireplace, comfortable sofas and armchairs make this room pleasantly informal and comfortable. On ground floor there are 1 double room with en-suite bathroom with shower opens out onto the garden and has been adapted for wheel chair use.

A spiral Renaissance-style travertine staircase leads to the upper floor, where a central living room with windows looking out on both sides, a fireplace and a large African hardwood dining table leads into a big Tuscan kitchen, fully equipped with electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, american coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, washing machine .

A waist-high fireplace is a local feature which makes it easy to cook over the fire. The kitchen walls have been painted a stunning blue lime wash in the characteristic style of the old kitchens in peasant farms, as blue was supposed to keep the flies away in the summer.

The Villa has on this floor 2 two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom sharing a bathroom with bath tub.

The garden has been designed to blend in naturally with the surroundings. Climbing roses, hydrangea petiolaris, lavender, cystus, rosemary and honeysuckle mix well with the old oak and fruit trees. Meals can be taken under a pergola covered by wisteria, roses and grapevines. A 10 by 5 meter pool is tucked away at the far end of the garden.

A small house, which was used to be the pig pen, hen house and ox barn, is now a charming and cosy loft with old tie beams and a large fireplace. It is rented only in case of an occupation of 11-14 persons together with the Villa during the pool season, to ensure the pool’s exclusive use.

In the annex building there is 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bed room for two children. Each Bedroom has its own bathroom. When the pool season is over, the little house can be rented separately. It has a separate entrance from the car park and looks out onto a perfectly private garden facing the woods.
